One of the memorable nights with Chris was a few years ago at Skips lounge in Angola Indiana. having seen him many times and spending time chatting with Chris, this evening we were talking about his Gibson 335. I have one just like it but I currently am playing a Les Paul in my band, anyway we were discussing how he comps chords behind his keybord player who was David Kirk Mathews that night. I was intrested in some of the cool chord fragment slides he does quite often. all of you have heard him do this often when someone else is doing a solo. so he grabs his 335 and sits down and shows me some of his moves. i doubt you will find many entertainers that would take the time to do that. I have talked music with lots of well known blues players like Debbie Davies, Tommy Castro, Chris Beard, Tinsley Ellis and so on but no one offered to show me something. once again it speaks volumes about his aproachability. He told me he went with Robbin Fford last year and taught blues guitar at the Chicago music workshop and said it was one of the coolest things He had done in a long time. well thats enough for now, more later.
